Half-Drabble, 24 March 2014

The north wind pulls on the yellow scarf of the woman in black. She crosses the street from the assisted living center, and turns into the wind in the bike lane, She holds a black hat in place with one hand, drags a black suitcase behind her with the other.

Half-Drabble: 13 January 2014, Savannah GA

“Fish crow, hidden crow,
are you an American Crow?”

“Nuh uh,” it says
with a squeak toy call
clear over car drone
and winter breeze.

The spatzies chatter and flock
bare tree to evergreen hedge
in time with the stoplight flush
of cars from the corner
of Liberty and Whitaker.
